Certified Nursing Assistant

Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) are very important members of the health care team. CNAs work in nursing homes, home health agencies, hospitals, hospice organizations, and other companies which provide various levels of health care to individuals.

This 25-day program provides classroom instruction and hands-on skills training to prepare CNAs to take the Alabama Nurse Aide Registry examination. Wallace Community College graduates are employed throughout the area and provide quality care to those who need it most.

This program is available on both the Wallace Campus, the Sparks Campus, and the Bullock County Career Technical Center.

The times for the classes are:

Monday-Friday, Wallace Dothan Campus 8:00am- 12:00 pm

Monday-Thursday, Bullock County 4:00 pm-8:00 pm

The fee for the course is $875. This includes books, tuition, and state exam.

**Some clinical facilities we partner with may require proof of vaccination.

Prerequisites include:

A background check
Two TB tests with results
CNA uniforms (purchased through local vendors)
State issued photo ID
Copy of COVID vaccination card or exemption form
Students must be at least 18 years old
A drug screen
CNA Application (deadline to apply October 1, 2024)

Eligibility Requirements for Scholarship

Must be an Alabama resident
Be registered or intend to register in an eligible short-term credential program that can be completed in two semesters or less and that will lead to in-demand career opportunities in the region which the community college where the course is taken is located

This course is approved for WIOA funding, Telamon, Sallie Mae Loans and MyCAA.
